Saving Box Tops Over the Summer
During open house each child (K-4th) should have received a magnet and zip lock bag to start saving box tops. Please start saving them over the summer and when the children return to school we will have special incentives for the students that turn in box tops. Please email us if you would like any additional clips or if you did not receive one. Remember; only the bag needs to be returned…keep the clip for future box top savings.
Summer Recycling Challenge
Let’s start the new school year with some extra money by collecting recycling over the summer. Bring your recycling to school (or schedule a pick-up) the first Friday after school starts August 14, 2009 and receive a ticket for each student in your family for our first snow cone party! The party is scheduled for Friday at lunch, so get your recycling to school early!
Summer heat can make recycling stinky and moldy and it may attract ants! Oh no! I recommend rinsing bottles and cans and storing drink pouches, cookie wrappers, bar wrappers, and chip bags in SEPARATE zip top bags.
Remember what we can recycle?
CA CRV - CA CASH BACK - CA CASH REFUND
Plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and bimetal cans. No glass, please!
Drink Pouches, like Capri Sun (empty, no straws, any brand)
Cookie Wrappers (any size, any brand)
Bar Wrappers (Energy, Cereal, Protein, and Granola that are silver on the inside)
Chip Bags (Frito-Lay products only, like Lays, Doritos, Cheetos, Fritos, Sun Chips any size)
Plastic Shopping Bags (any color except black and must be clean, dry, and empty (no receipts). Other bags that we collect are dry cleaning bags and newspaper rain bags
Cell Phones (include chargers if you have them)
Toner and Ink Jet Cartridges (baggie recommended in case of leaks)
Laptops (charged or have the power cord included)
PDAs, Digital Cameras, GPS Systems,
Video Games and Video Game Consoles.
Continue recycling all other recyclables (like paper, milk jugs, and glass) in your curb side rolling cart.
Any questions about what to recycle at school, schedule a pick-up, or to volunteer to help with the sorting see Amy Cramer or e-mail MatherRecycles@gmail.com.
