Family Fun Night "Fun"draiser

Mather Heights and Color Me Mine are hosting a family fun night. You and your family are invited to join us for an evening of family fun, painting ceramics, root beer floats and making memories.

After you enjoy painting, join us for a free Root Beet Float social (free if you participate in Color Me Mine event, otherwise $1 per person).

Career Day - April 2, 2009

Mather Heights is having a career day to motivate studends to do their best on the STAR testing and show them why ALL subjects are important and useful for the future.

This day involves having 2-4 dynamic parents/relatives of this class come and talk about their job or a special skill set. The parent/relative will motivate the students by doing a brief presentation and short hands-on activity that could show a small part of your profession/skill.

By having a different perpective on why the subjects in school are so important, the students will be movtivated to do their best on the STAR testing and in everyday school learning.

If you are interested in participating in this event, please return the form that was provided in your child's Wednesday folder.

Movie Night This Friday!!

Join us for movie night this Friday at 6PM. Student Council will be showing Madagascar 2. We will be serving pizza, drinks and popcorn. Tickets are $5.

There will also be a raffle for a basket of candy and to be PRINCIPAL for the day!!! Each raffle ticket is only $1.00. Proceeds from the raffle will help for the end of the year picnic party.

PTA Elections

PTA elections are here. Get involved... make a difference. This letter was sent home in last weeks Wednesday's folders. Please see link for full description of open positions.

Don't wait to get involved "someday". If you are interested in one of the open positions please attend our next PTA meeting or print out sheet and return to the school office.

New Expanded Recycling Program

We are pleased to announce Mather Height's EXPANDED Recycling Program!! We will continue to collect CA CRV - CA Cash back - CA Cash Refund plasitc bottles, aluminum cans and bimetal cans (but please no glass).

In addition to these items, we will ALSO now be accepting:
- plastic shopping bags (we can accept any color but black and must be clean/dry)
- toner and ink cartidges (suggested that you put them in a baggie since they can leak)
- electronics such as cell phones, digital cameras, laptops, GPS (our new electronic recycling program)

Picture day - Thursday, March 12th

All students will be photographed and no money is needed on picture day unless you want to order an add-on. (Please see the insert that was sent home in the Wednesday folders) A portrait package will be sent home at a later date for you to view and purchase.

PTA Meeting This Thursday

We will be having our monthly PTA this Thursday (3/5) at 5PM in the teacher's lounge. We will be discussing our future fundraiser, "Family Night Out". We look forward to seeing new faces.
